You will be in charge of leading and growing our Engineering teams and helping them mature in order to achieve highest level of technical competence and efficiency.

๐Ÿ” What we're looking for:

Previous Experience

  • 10+ years in software engineering, 6+ years in the management of a SaaS business
  • Demonstrate a track record of managing a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development
  • Excel at planning, creating large teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability
  • Experience working with the following languages: PHP, Go, Javascript and Python
  • Experience implementing tools, processes, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the willingness to present and defend your ideas to stakeholders
  • Comfortable managing teams and projects with tight deadlines and short release cycles
  • Track record of managing a high reliability environment with complete automated testing suite for continuous delivery
  • Passionate about developing, coaching and mentoring your team
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a proven track record of effectively managing and developing a diverse team of software engineers
  • An in depth understanding of Agile methodology and how to apply these to cross functional teams
  • Experience building sophisticated real time and big data solutions for high throughput data
  • Natural problem solver who enjoys identifying ways to make your team and customer's lives better
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed time frames
  • Thoughtful decision making skills with a knack for identifying, prioritizing, and articulating the highest impact initiatives
  • Ability to lead the team to meet deliverables and drive work to completion within specified timelines
  • Work with colleagues & senior leaders to deliver ideas and solutions to many audiences including your team and C-Staff
  • Proven experience with event-driven systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop & execute an Engineering strategy and plan, supporting tymeshift's growth and scaling objectives
  • Recruit, onboard and develop Software Engineering professionals
  • Grow and mature the team so that they can undertake, support & deliver end-to-end products and features
  • Work across the engineering department and other stakeholders to align capacity, priorities and outputs with the business objectives
  • Lead the adoption of Agile concepts
  • Develop and implement relevant metrics, dashboards and processes for maximum output of the engineering team
  • Build a tighter relationship between Engineering and other tymeshift departments (with special emphasis with Product team)
  • Be an engineering leader that knows how to get the best from the team, while inspiring them every single day
  • Ensure strategic planning and introduce planning and processes to meet company goals
  • You will participate in the company's strategy and governance by reporting your opinions and decisions to the Chief Technology Officer
  • Manage and cultivate the relationship with other Heads of Departments
  • Responsible for creating the best delivery strategy, the best teams and the best products
  • Supervise, guide, and help organise the work of multiple teams
  • Empower the team to achieve a high level of technical productivity and reliability while making sure best practices are being implemented
  • Identify areas of opportunity and work with the team to address them
  • Being a bridge between product and engineering teams
  • Work closely with team leads to ensure teams are motivated and ready to perform at their best
  • Support and participate in creating a diverse and inclusive working environment where people can thrive
